Maryland Community Action Partnership is seeking volunteers for the 2022 MCAP Human Services Conference in Ocean City, MD. The goal is to provide an opportunity for everyone to contribute to another successful MCAP Conference.
For those volunteers fulfilling significant volunteer time commitments, partial registration discounts can be earned (registration discounts are limited). Priority for the registration discounts is provided to members who have not previously volunteered in the past and volunteer for multiple areas. We also appreciate volunteers that simply want to contribute to your association to help make this an amazing event.
We seek volunteers who can commit ahead, as assignments will be confirmed back to you prior to the conference. Volunteers will register on the sign-up genius to indicate their availability. Confirmed volunteers will be notified with 7 business days of their request.

Most volunteers simply like to be involved as both an attendee and a contributor in some way. The cross section and volume of volunteers enriches the event. A list of key areas with brief descriptions include:
Registration
Volunteer hours at registration counters are anticipated to be during the following dates/times: Wednesday-Thursday, from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. and Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 12 p.m. Volunteers will be expected to work at least a half shift. Exact times will be provided to you via email by the Program Coordinator, prior to the conference.
Session Room Hosts
We have numerous slots to fill in this area. This is an assignment for volunteers comfortable interacting with audiences and presenters. As a host, you will help with handouts, evaluations, introductions and in some cases, will assist speakers in the question-and-answer period. This is a great volunteer option for those who wish to take advantage of education sessions. You can volunteer for the sessions you need, from an educational standpoint.
Plenary Session Assistance
There are three plenary sessions. Volunteers help usher, aide Conference Team members, chaperone special guests, set out special event items, and perform a variety of miscellaneous tasks.
WHY VOLUNTEER? Volunteering time to support your association's conference can be a phenomenal way to contribute and expand your skills, knowledge, and networks. Volunteering also allows you to make a lasting and meaningful impact. Among other things, volunteers:
- Get access to training and development opportunities,
- Enhance their experience and resume,
- Strengthen their community and networks; and
- Connect and network with other like-minded people.
